The Hearing and Service Dogs of Minnesota will be holding their 7th Annual Heel and Wheel to be held at Long Lake Regional Park in New Brighton on Sunday, September 10th at 1:00 P.M. Our club has been participating in this event over the years and will do so this year. If interested in participating, you need to sign up by our next meeting (Sept. 7). If you cannot attend, please contact Lion Darrell Main on or before Sept. 7th. Let’s have a large turnout this year.
Donations made this past month were made to the city of Granite Falls to help them recover from the tornado that devastated the town in July and to the 5M-7 Gram.
At our board meeting in July, it was decided that a Howard Lake Lions expense receipt be used when charging any supplies to our Lions Club. Lion Treasurer Terry Thorson handed these slips out to all who attended the last meeting. These slips need to be filled out along with the store receipt. If you need these slips, please contact Lion Terry Thorson.
If you are one of those members who still have not paid your membership dues ($40), please do so ASAP. You can pay them either by attending one of our upcoming meetings or mail them to P.O. Box 13; Howard Lake, MN 55349.
Our Lions club will once again have a bowling team on Wednesday night this coming season. If interested in being part of the team this year (either full-time or part-time) please contact Lion Steve Weber (543-3567). The season starts on September 13th.
Happy birthday to the following Howard Lake Lion members who will be
celebrating a birthday in September: Nancy Main (15); Scott Werner (15);
Jack Oberpriller (18) and Judy Rohling (29).
