Thanks to Lions Tom and Karen Fiecke for the wonderful meal at our Feb.2nd
meeting. Also, thanks to Lion Harvey Krohn for the excellent meal
at our Feb. 16th meeting.
MEETINGS
Our first meeting of the month will be on Thursday, March 2nd at our
meeting place. There will also be a meal that night. Lions Bernie
Rohling and Julie Gangl will be cooking the meal. The meal will be
at 7:00 P.M. with the meeting at 7:30 P.M.
Our second meeting will be take place on Thursday, March 16th also
at our meeting place. There will be a Board of Directors meeting
at 6:30 P.M. No member has volunteered to cook for this meeting.
If interested, please notify Lion Steve by the first meeting. If
there is no meal, the meeting will be at 7:00 P.M. (7:30 if there is a
meal; please check the March 13th Herald)
BRUCE HOFFMAN CONCERT
The Bruce Hoffman and the Best of Branson Concert on February 19th
was a HUGE SUCCESS!! Attendance at the 2:00 PM show was a near sellout
and the 7:00 PM show was also well attended. A big thank you to Lions
Mike Main and Terry Thorson for all their hard work in making this concert
very successful. Also, thanks to the following Lion members who worked
at the concert: Charles Engels, Karen Fiecke, Tom Fiecke, Julie Gangl,
Susan Grangroth, Duane Hass, Dan Judd, Jeremy Kadlec, Lee Kaltved, Harvey
Krohn Renee Lahr, Darrell Main, Kathy Main, Nancy Main, Jason Mapes, Darren
McAlpine,Debbie McAlpine, Tim Oberpriller, Dan Oestreich, Don Oestreich,
Bernie Rohling, Cathy Rufer, Catherine Stenberg, Dean Stenberg, Verdell
Stenberg, and LaNette Thorson.
HL Lions who help support the concert were Woody Engel, Sam Gruenhagen, Shelly Reddemann, Steve Weber, and Welton Zander. Once again, thanks for all your help.

ANNOUNCEMENTS
On Feb. 4th, a number of HL Lion members visited Lion Woody Engel at
his home. Lion Woody recently had back surgery and is recuperating
at home.
The Howard Lake Lions will host a pancake breakfast on Sunday, April 9th (Palm Sunday) at the Howard Lake Legion. Lion Tom Fiecke is the chairperson.
On Saturday, April 15th, the H.L. Lions will sponsor their annual Easter Egg Hunt at Memorial Park in Howard Lake. Lion Duane Hass will be the chairperson.
The Annandale Lions will host the next zone meeting on April 24th.
The Howard Lake Lions will host a pancake breakfast just prior to the
fishing contest during Good Neighbor Days in June.
The Multiple Convention will be held April 28th thru April 30th in
Rochester, MN.
The 2006 Lions Tours for the 5M Hearing Center will April 1st and September 30th.
Nomination of officers for the upcoming year will be accepted. Serving on the Nominations Committee this year are Lions Duane Hass, Tom Fiecke, and LaNette Thorson.
CONGRATULATIONS
Congratulations to Lion Nancy Main who received a Presidential Award
at this year’s Mid-Winter Convention. Lion Nancy is the chairperson
for Youth Outreach.
Congratulations to Lion Lee Kaltved on being a new member (again) of the Howard Lake Lions.
DONATIONS
Our club donated to the Hearing and Service Dogs of Minnesota and also
to Stephanie Gruenhagen, a law student at William Mitchell College of Law
(and a graduate of HLWW). She will be going to New Orleans and Mississippi
to offer free legal advice to hurricane victims.
BIRTHDAYS
Happy birthday to the following Howard Lake Lion members who will be
celebrating a birthday
in March: Mike Main (4); Don Oestreich (10); Julie Gangl (14); Sam
Gruenhagen (16); and Denise Oberpriller (17).
