Thanks to Lion Darrell Main for cooking at our August 17th meeting and to all the members who brought food that night.
A big thank you to Lions Sam Gruenhagen, Nancy Main, Darrell Main, and Debbie McAlpine who helped packaged meals for “Kids Against Hunger.”
Thanks to all the HL Lions who showed up at our August 17th meeting at the old Methodist Church to help clean up the building.
MEETINGS
Our first meeting of the month will be on Thursday, September 7th.
This meeting will take place at our Lions hall (the old Methodist church).
There will also be a meal that night. Lion Layle Dawa will be cooking
the meal. The meal will be at 7:00 P.M. with the meeting at 7:30
P.M.
Our second meeting will be take place on Thursday, September 21st at
our meeting place. There will be a Board of Directors meeting at
6:30 P.M. No member has volunteered to cook for this meeting.
If interested, please notify Lion Steve by the first meeting. If
there is no meal, the meeting will be at 7:00 P.M. (7:30 if there is a
meal; please check the Sept. 17th h Herald)
ANNOUNCEMENTS
The 13th Annual Heel and Wheel walk-a-thon for the Hearing and Service
Dogs of Minnesota will be held on Saturday, September 16th at Phelan Park
in St. Paul. Registration begins at 9:30 AM with the walk at 11:00 AM.
A speaker from Functional Industries, a non-profit organization, will be talking to our club at our Sept. 7th meeting.
The Montrose Lions will be hosting the first zone meeting on Monday, September 18th. The cost of the meal is $11.00.
BIRTHDAYS
Happy birthday to the following Howard Lake Lion members who will be
celebrating a birthday
in September: Bob Serfling (14) and Nancy Main (15).
