THANK YOU
Thanks to Lions Renee Lahr and Bernie Rohling (and Bernie’s “friend”) for the delicious meal at our March 3rd meeting.

We received a thank you note from the After Prom Party Committee for our recent contribution.  We are invited to an open house following the Grand March on May 7th.

MEETINGS
Our first meeting of the month will be on Thursday, April 7th at our meeting place. This will be a dinner meeting, which will be at 7:00 P.M.  Lion Darrell Main has volunteered to cook for this meeting.  Our regular business meeting will be at 7:30 P.M.

Our second meeting will be take place on Thursday, April 21st also at our meeting place.  There will be a Board of Directors meeting at 6:30 P.M.  Lions Debbie and Darren McAlpine along with Lion Mike Main will be cooking and serving the meal at this meeting.  The meal will be at 7:00 P.M.
The regular business meeting will be at 7:30 P.M.

ANNOUNCEMENTS
Our pull-tab booth at the Howard Lake Liquor Store will remain open as much as possible during the remodeling.

Congratulations to Lion Duane Hass and his wife Trina on the birth of a son on Tuesday, March 22nd at Waconia.  The name is Logan Louis Hass.  He weighed in at 9 lbs. 4 oz. and was 19.25 inches long.

Any H. L. Lion member interested in running for any of the offices for the year 2005-06 should contact either Lion LaNette Thorson or Lion Tom Fiecke ASAP.

Lion Catherine Stenberg presented our club a check for the tsunami relief from Lion Dean Stenberg’s grandmother, Catherine Anderson.

We will once again be sponsoring a queen candidate for Good Neighbor Days in late June.

The next Good Neighbor Days meeting will be at 7:00 P.M.  on Wednesday, April 6th at the fire hall.

Our prayers go out to Lion Cathy Rufer who is suffering through some medical issues recently.

Camp Friendship Ventures have asked our club again to sponsor an ice cream social like we did two years ago.  This year it will be on Tuesday nights from 7:15 until 8:30 P.M.  We will need at least six members willing to volunteer their time.

PANCAKE BREAKFAST
Our annual pancake breakfast on March 20 at the Howard Lake Legion was a huge success.  A big thank you to Lions Debbie McAlpine and Mike Main being the co-chairs for this event.  Also, thanks to the following members who helped on that day:  Bernie Rohling, Duane Hass, Darren McAlpine, Dan Judd, Catherine Stenberg, Tom Sullivan, Dan Oestreich, Harvey Krohn, Charles Engels, Karen Fiecke, Tom Fiecke, Kathy Main, Darrell Main, and Tim Oberpriller. Also helping were prospective members Jazz Birkholz and Lion Bernie’s “friend” along with Ashley Main (Lions Mike and Cathy Main’s daughter).

EASTER EGG HUNT
Our annual Easter Egg Hunt that took place at Memorial Park on Saturday, March 26 was also a huge success. A large part of the success was the beautiful weather that day.  Thank you to Lion Dan Oestreich for chairing the event this year.  Also, thanks to the following members who helped out: Terry Thorson, Renee Lahr, Bernie Rohling, Charles Engels, Harvey Krohn, Darrell Main, Tom Fiecke, Paul Schmitz, Dean Stenberg, Steve Weber, and Verdell Stenberg.  Also helping were prospective members Sandy Krohn and Layle Dawa.  Thanks also to Lion Bernie’s “friend” (What’s her name Bernie?) for being the Easter Bunny this year.

The winners of the bikes were: Cameron Decker, Jolene Flores, Jonathan Jenue, and Shekynak Entinger.  The winners of the Easter Baskets were Jason Kritzeck, Devon Gast, Cassandra Jenilu, Audri Bakeberg, and Cheyenne Jackson.

NEW CLUB SHIRTS
Our club is still taking orders for our new HL Lions club shirts.  The shirts are red with white lettering.  This time, the shirts are also available in women’s style along with the men’s.  The cost of the shirts are as follows: S –XL--$16; 2XL--$18; 3XL--$21.  If you are interested in ordering one, please put your name and size on a slip of paper in an envelope along with a check for the cost of shirt to: Lion Steve Weber; P.O. BIRTHDAYS
Happy birthday to the following Howard Lake Lion members who will be celebrating a birthday in April: Tom Fiecke (5) and Duane Hass (27).
