April 2002

THANK YOU
Thanks to Lion Mike Main and his chefs for the delicious fish fry at our
March 7th meeting.  Also, thank you to Lions Denny Massey and Joyce Thorson
for the meal at our March 21st meeting.

A big thank you to all the Lions who helped out at the H.L. Lioness pancake
breakfast on March 24th at the H.L. Legion.  Over 200 hungry people were
served.

MEETINGS
Our next meeting will be on Thursday, April 4th at our regular meeting
place.  Lions Vern and Mardell Lemke will be cooking and serving the meal at
7:00 P.M.  The meeting will be at 7:30 P.M.

Our second meeting will be on Thursday, April 18th also at our regular
meeting place.  There will be a Board of Directors meeting at 6:30 P.M.  At
7:00, there will be a meal cooked and served by Paul Fobbe, Jim Weninger
(teachers @ HLWW High School) and friends.  The business meeting will be at
7:30 P.M.

BOWLING PARTY
Our Lions club will once again have our annual bowling party on Saturday,
April 6th at the Park Tavern and Lanes.  The party is a result of raising
the most money (as a club) at the Heel-n-Wheel fundraiser back in September.
The party will be from 2:00 until 5:00 P.M.  After the party, we will be
going to Mystic Lake Casino.  If you have already signed up or will be in
the near future, the money for the trip should be paid by the April 4th
meeting.  (In all likelihood, we will be taking only one bus.)

Members are strongly encouraged to invite family and friends to come along.
SW Bus Company from Willmar will once again be our mode of transportation.
The cost of the bus ride will be $15 per person.

We will leave from Howard Lake (at Block 18 or behind the drug store) at
12:45 P.M.  We should arrive at the Park Tavern at approximately 1:45.  We
will then leave Park Tavern at approx. 5:30.  We will be leaving Mystic Lake
for the return trip back to HL at 10:00 P.M.

Please contact Lion Steve Weber if you wish to go or have any questions.  He
can be reached at (320) 543-3567 (H) or 3471, ext. 395 at work.

EASTER EGG HUNT
Our annual Easter Egg Hunt will take place on Saturday, March 30th at 10:00
A.M. at Memorial Park in Howard Lake.  Lions Duane Hass and Dan Oestreich
will be co-chairing the event.  Let's give Lion Duane and Dan our support by
helping out that day. (Let's hope Mother Nature cooperates.)

ZONE MEETING
The next zone meeting will be on Thursday, April 11th at the Maple Lake
Legion.  Social hour is at 6:30 P.M., meal at 7:00 P.M. and the meeting to
follow.  If interested in attending, please contact Lion LaNette Thorson by
our next meeting on April 4th.  The club will pay for your meal.  However,
